Red Hair Frenzy

I remember how I always look at my friend dying her hair red over and over again. The only thing I like about the red hair was the brown shade left after the red has faded.

I have been brown (and black) all my life and now, I am looking for a change and decided to get my hair on fire! haha...
meanwhile I did some research on the types of red shades available..

this still has tinchies of browns, a little more copper than red.

i like it nice and dark :)

emma stone's gorgeous red

ginger red

i like this soft strawberrish red, but i think i'd have to bleach my hair first...

brownish rusty kinda red, nice for khloe kardashian :P

I have also read on some websites that these are the varieties of red shades in general.

  • Strawberry blonde (lightest shade, almost blonde with red undertones)
  • Carrot or orange color (is the brightest)
  • Ginger (fiery red/orange)
  • Copper (similar to new one-cent copper penny)
  • Fiery red
  • Titian (is a bit lighter than auburn)
  • Rust
  • Pre-Raphaelite warm red shades
  • Auburn (brown hair with red undertones, reddish-brown)
  • Chestnut (auburn shade)
  • Mahoganey (darkest of auburn shades)
I would vote for the Titian and Auburn colours.

Any good salons to recommend? I would usually go to Leng & Team (Far East) or my friend's regular Paris (Roxy Square).
Will post pictures when I have gotten rid of my medium-ish brown hair, till then....

P/S: 1 week down since my trial on Browhaus Extend Lash & Brow Serum, I am noticing my lashes get thicker. Will write about that real soon! Toodles~

Première: Browhaus Lash and Brow Serum

Hola on my first post!! Recently I have discovered so many beauty items to try in the market I need to share with someone. All products and reviews are not sponsored (yes out of my own pocket and aiswee-ness).

A little about me, just a normal working adult who craves and raves about anything that makes me pretty, or prettier. haha

here goes my very first one..

Browhaus Extend Lash and Brow Serum

There's a long granny story to this..
Had my very first lash extension at Shine (sub of Citispa) as they had a First Trial @ $38 promo. I was pretty naive and did not do any research before I went to the lash extension. I just assumed it painless and probably some high technology to attach fibres to my lashes to make them look long and volumised. Little did I know, they used fake lash and glue to stick to my lids. (Yeah, my friends already called me bimbo for that). The glue stings, the lashes poke, I feel my lids were sore and I was teary the whole time driving home.. hated myself for the torture.

That's me after the extension...

It only lasted for 4 days. Ok a normal lash extension would basically last for 3-4 weeks. But if you have any thoughts about doing it, I would advise you to do a little research on the process and removal before you go all in to do it, like me. FYI - you can't rub your eyes or wash your face like normal after the lashes are on..

So the 4th day came and it was irritating like hell, it did not look full enough and the over-lengthy lashes were very uncomfortable, poking into my eyes if I shut them too tight. I started using my faithful L'Oreal make up remover and pressed hard at the glue, hoping to remove the glue or make it easier to remove. Some did, while others were so stubborn that I nearly finished my remaining bottle of remover. To make my story slightly shorter, I pulled one of my lash in the process and there was a botak spot on my right eye. I nearly cried.

Just last Friday, I went to Browhaus for my usual brows tweezing and was attracted to this little ad that says "thicker and longer lashes in 3 weeks".... I asked about it after my brows session and the therapist sell it hard to me (like they always do). She quoted me $120 when I asked for the price (siao!!!) but I was already half convinced by the results by then (shit! she got me!). She told me that customers have good review, and their therapists at Holland Village branch all used it. She also repeatedly warned me not to use in the inner eyes, because they had a customer who had lashes growing there and ended up poking into her eyes. It's so convincing right!
The lady at the counter told me she could give me their GSS promo which was about 15% off, and I got it for $75 (w/o GST). I read on reviews that it normally cost $89 (I don't know where $120 came about) or get it free when you have a session of Browgraphy

It has been two days (which means I don't have the full review yet *oops*), I put the serum on my lash line (upper and lower) and the botak areas on my brows. The instructions were that you put it on once everyday, night time preferably, for two weeks, then 2-3 times per week thereafter. But I very kiasu, worry my lashes won't grow and my money go wasted, so I applied it every morning and night... hurhurhur~
My colleague told me her sister used it too and reported with good review that her lashes are indeed thicker and longer in 2 weeks. I really hope it works on me too! and after that I am gonna pass this magic wand to my friends to share the miracle! (I seriously don't know if there will be any hygiene issues, but it's so expensive!)

Anyway here's a picture of me after 2 days of hardcore lash serum application. They are so damn asian, short and sparse...

You can see the lobang in my lashes, towards the inside. I will let this be the "Before" picture and compare in two weeks' time!
